The YWCA of Central Massachusetts offers a wide range of programs and services that strengthen women and girls helping them to realize their full potential.

Child Care

Children flourish in our multi-cultural child care centers in Worcester and Westborough. Curriculum is developmentally based and NAEYC accredited. Care is available for infants (four weeks) through school-age (14 years). Summer camp programs are also available.

Health and Fitness

A coed health and fitness center serves a diverse population of women and men. Special wellness and fitness programs are available for senior women, teens, individuals with disabilities, and women recovering from breast cancer. Special programs and classes are now available for youth.

Career Resources

Whether you need help balancing work and family, finding the right career, or dealing with corporate change, the YWCA's career counselors can help you. Services include: career counseling, resume writing, job search and interview skills training, career aptitude and vocational testing. A Career Resource Library is open to the public.

Transitional Housing

Women in need of short-term housing have access to safe, affordable dormitory style living quarters at the YWCA for a few weeks or up to several months. For a modest program fee each resident has a private room with essential furnishings and access to a community kitchen and living areas.

Daybreak Resources for Women

The safety and well being of women and their children is paramount for this program. A confidential emergency shelter is available. Other services include short-term counseling, support groups, court advocacy, and school and community-based violence prevention education programs.

Teen Programs

The YWCA of Central Massachusetts offers support services to pregnant and parenting teens between the ages of 16 and 20 through two important programs - the Young Parent Program and the Teen Parent Program. Teen parents enrolled in either program learn how to cope with the responsibilities of child bearing and child rearing; have access to education and job skills training, and receive the necessary support to go onto college or enter the workforce.

Women and Girls Wellness

The YWCA has always addressed the health of the whole woman. Understanding that women are the gatekeepers of family health, YWCA women's health initiatives empower women through education and assistance with accessing needed health care. The YWCA also advocates nationally and locally to insure that health care policies and practices that support the needs of women and their families are enacted.
